PG13- The Martian Way and Other Stories (some v,b)
Sorry, no data yet.
The Martian Way ...And Other Stories is a collection of four short stories by Asimov about various adventures in space or with aliens. All of them have nice twists to the endings and are suitable for young adults. "The Martian Way" is about what happens when Earth tries to control the independent Martian colonists through limiting their water supply. In the humerous "Youth," two boys find some interesting new pets, just as their fathers are waiting for new ambassadors to arrive from an alien planet. Roi from "The Deep" is sent to contact Earth as a possible new home for his people, but to do so he must face an emotion that disgusts his race- the bond between mother and child. This is my favorite story of the collection, and it's quite twisted. Finally, the suspicious boy Mark (who has a perfect memory) and his psychologist Sheffield are added to the complement of a crew exploring a "Sucker Bait" planet where all the colonists died. No one likes Mark, and will they trust him even if he discovers what's wrong with the planet? Or will they try to get him killed?
